COOKIE STATEMENT
Version: 1.0
Date: 23 January 2026
1. Use of cookies
www.kalpaky.com uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is sent with pages of this Webshop and stored by your browser on your computer, mobile phone, tablet or other device. The information stored in the cookie can be sent back to our servers on your next visit.
The use of cookies is important for the proper functioning of our Webshop. We also use cookies whose effects are not immediately visible to you. The (anonymous) information we obtain from visitors helps us improve the Webshop and make it more user-friendly.
Kalpáky Olives B.V. (“Kalpáky”) is responsible for the use of cookies on www.kalpaky.com. For more information on how we handle your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Statement.
2. Consent to the use of cookies
Your consent is required for the use of certain cookies. We ask for this consent via a cookie banner when you first visit our Webshop.
We only place cookies that are not strictly necessary (such as analytical and marketing cookies) after you have given your prior consent via the cookie banner or the cookie settings. Functional cookies (including session cookies, shopping basket cookies, security cookies and load-balancing cookies) that are strictly necessary for providing a service you have requested (such as processing your order) are exempt from the consent requirement. We base these processing operations on the performance of our agreement with you and, where applicable, on our legitimate interest in a secure and properly functioning Webshop.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie settings on our Webshop. You can access these settings via the “Cookie settings” button at the bottom of every page of the Webshop. If you withdraw or change your consent, this will only affect future visits. You can delete cookies that have already been placed via your browser settings (see section 5).
3. Types of cookies and their purposes
We use the following types of cookies, depending on the choices you make in the cookie banner:
a. Functional cookies
Functional cookies ensure that the Webshop works properly and are necessary for the use of (parts of) the site. For example, they remember your language preferences and keep your shopping basket saved during your visit to the Webshop.
Functional cookies may also be placed on our platform by our service providers, such as:
· Shopify (hosting and webshop platform): to enable the technical functioning of the Webshop, remember the shopping basket, manage sessions and prevent misuse;
· Mollie (payment provider): to provide a secure payment environment and process transactions;
· Sendcloud (shipping and logistics service): to display shipping options, generate shipping labels and show track & trace information.
These cookies are necessary to process your order correctly and to ensure that the Webshop functions properly.
b. Analytical cookies
We use analytical cookies to keep statistics on the use of our Webshop. This gives us better insight into how the Webshop is used and helps us to improve it.
We use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited), among other tools, to collect anonymous visitor statistics. These cookies record, for example, which pages are visited, how long a visit lasts and through which channel you arrived at our site. We have entered into a processing agreement with Google. Analytical cookies are only placed after you have given your consent via the cookie banner or the cookie settings.
In addition, analytical cookies are placed via our Shopify platform to measure the use and performance of the Webshop, for example to see which pages are visited most often and where any error messages occur. These cookies are only placed if you have given your consent for analytical cookies in the cookie banner or the cookie settings. An up-to-date overview of the cookies placed via Shopify, including their purposes and retention periods, is included in the cookie overview in the cookie settings of the Webshop.
c. Tracking cookies from others
Tracking and marketing cookies are used to track visitors across different online shops and to display (personalised) advertisements.
We use the Meta pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited). This pixel allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertisements on Facebook and Instagram and, where permitted, to show you more relevant advertisements. Meta may combine data about your visit to our online shop with data from other online shops and with data linked to your account with its services. These cookies are only placed if you give your consent to marketing cookies in the cookie banner.
For certain processing operations in the context of the Meta pixel, Kalpáky and Meta act as joint controllers within the meaning of the GDPR. Meta is the sole controller for the further processing of your data by Meta after it has been collected via the Meta pixel. More information about these processing operations and the associated division of responsibilities can be found in our Privacy Statement and in Meta’s privacy policy.
This processing may include profiling (analysing your interests and behaviour in order to display targeted advertisements). You have the right to object to this processing for direct marketing purposes, including profiling, at any time by withdrawing your consent to marketing cookies via the cookie banner and/or by contacting us at olives@kalpaky.com.
d. Social media-related cookies
Social media cookies are placed by social media platforms when, for example, you share a product or page via a share button, or when social media content (such as an Instagram or YouTube post) is embedded on our website. These cookies enable these platforms to track your browsing behaviour.
Social media cookies are only placed if you have given your consent via the cookie banner. The further processing of your data takes place in accordance with the terms and conditions and privacy policy of the relevant social media provider.
e. Site improvement / optimisation cookies
Site improvement or optimisation cookies allow us to test different versions of a web page (A/B testing) to see which version performs best. If we use such cookies, they fall under the category of analytical or marketing cookies and are only placed after you have given your consent.
f. Retention periods, third countries and cookie overview
Cookies are not stored for longer than is necessary for the purposes described in this Cookie Statement. The storage period for each cookie (or category of cookies) may range from the duration of a single session (only during your visit) to a maximum of several years. An up-to-date and detailed overview of all cookies we use – including the name, type, purpose, provider and specific storage period per cookie – can be consulted via the “Cookie settings” button at the bottom of each page of the Webshop. This overview is automatically updated and forms an integral part of this Cookie Statement.
Some of our service providers, such as Google (Google Analytics), Meta (Meta pixel) and Shopify, also process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where data is transferred to a country outside the EEA, we take appropriate safeguards, for example by using standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and, where applicable, additional measures. More information about these transfers and the safeguards taken can be found in our Privacy Statement.
4. Your rights regarding your data
You have the right to request access to your Personal Data and to have it corrected or deleted. You also have the right to restrict the processing of your Personal Data, to object to the processing and, where applicable, to data portability.
You can exercise these rights by sending an email to olives@kalpaky.com. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to identify yourself adequately. If your request relates to Personal Data linked to a cookie, we may ask you to send a copy of the relevant cookie. You can find this in your browser settings.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office if you believe that we are not complying with privacy legislation.
5. Blocking and deleting cookies
You can block and delete cookies at any time via your internet browser. You can also set your browser to notify you when a cookie is placed or to prevent certain cookies from being placed altogether. Please consult your browser’s help function for instructions.
If you delete all cookies in your browser, this may affect the ease of use of the Webshop. Certain parts of the site may then function less well or may no longer be available at all. Please also note that your cookie settings are device- and browser-specific: if you use a different browser or device, you will need to set your preferences again.
Completely blocking cookies does not mean that you will no longer see advertisements. The advertisements will simply no longer be tailored to your interests and may therefore be repeated more often.
6. New developments and unforeseen cookies
The texts on our Webshop may be amended at any time due to ongoing developments. This also applies to this Cookie Statement. We recommend that you consult this Cookie Statement regularly so that you remain informed of any changes.
Blog articles or other content on our Webshop may use content hosted on other sites and displayed on www.kalpaky.com by means of embedded code (for example, YouTube videos). This embedded content often uses cookies. We have no control over how these third parties use their cookies. For more information, please consult the cookie and privacy statements of the relevant third parties.
It is also possible that cookies are placed on our Webshop by others without us always being aware of this. If you encounter cookies on our Webshop that are not mentioned in this Cookie Statement or in the cookie overview in the cookie settings, please let us know via olives@kalpaky.com. You can also contact the relevant third party directly to ask which cookies they place, why they do so, how long they are stored and how your privacy is protected.
7. Final remarks
We may amend this cookie statement from time to time, for example if we change our website or if the rules on cookies are updated. The most recent version can always be found on this web page.
The date of the last change is stated at the bottom of this cookie statement. If you have any questions or comments about the use of cookies on our website, please contact us at olives@kalpaky.com.
